Canstruction® is an international competition that raises awareness about world hunger while facilitating the donation of thousands of pounds of canned food to local food pantries. Poughkeepsie Day School is, once again, spearheading this amazing event which showcases the creative abilities of kids in grades K-12. Come support the “Yes We Can” revolution January 31 to February 6 at the Poughkeepsie Galleria Mall where teams of students from Kildonan, Oakwood Friends, Randolph and Poughkeepsie Day School will showcase their canned food sculptures. All are encouraged to bring canned food to donate and vote for the People’s Choice Award, which will be given to the entry that receives the most cans from the public. All cans used in food sculptures and donated through this competition will go to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.
Since 2011, we have collected 12,253 lbs of food…let’s work together to raise this number through the roof!
